IIROSA distributes Eid gifts among various associations in Kingdom

Arab News - 19 August, 2012

This Ramadan thousands of deprived families will celebrate Eid Al-Fitr with a broad smile with the help of International Islamic Relief Organization, Saudi Arabia (IIROSA).

Since last year, IIROSA started the Eid gift and clothing project that aims to provide gifts to various authorized social service associations within the Kingdom to be distributed to the needy and the poor, prisoners and their families during the Eid.

This year IIROSA organized the Eid gift project, which supported 11,448 people by providing them with new clothes, home accessories, footwear, etc. These Eid gifts were arranged in separate boxes and distributed among 12 associations accordingly at the headquarters of IIROSA, Jeddah.

Adnan Khalil Basha, Secretary-General of IIROSA, praised the efforts of Women’s Section of Seasonal Development Project, which was responsible for the Eid gifts distribution and was extremely glad for the increase in the number of people receiving Eid gifts this year.

“By signing an agreement with these twelve associations, IIROSA was able to reach the deprived people and provide them with Eid gifts in this holy month. The Organization looks forward to meeting the needs of many more poor people under this project,” Basha said.

He added: “This project was also possible because of volunteers who have been working with us for months to make this day a success. Their support was vital for the completion of this project and this humanitarian work will get them higher status in the eyes of Almighty Allah.”

The associations, which received Eid gifts for distribution among the poor expressed their happiness and appreciated the efforts of IIROSA to implement such projects. Ms. Eman of Al-Faisaliah Association, said: “Our association has signed an agreement with IIROSA this year to support 200 families registered with us.”

Ms. Faiza Halawani of King Abdul Aziz University Hospital expressed her thanks to Dr. Basha for collaborating with them. She said: “This is the third year of partnership with IIROSA.

The organization contributes in treating poor people and providing help to their families.
We are grateful to IIROSA for gathering us to do this humanitarian work. We expect such collaborations in future as well.”

IIROSA provides assistance not only to the needy but also to the released prisoners and their families with the help of Tarahoum Makkah Association. IIROSA has signed an agreement with this association to support the released prisoners registered with them. This agreement also provides training to the prisoners in order to secure them financially.

Along with the released prisoners, AIDS patients have also benefitted by IIROSA Eid gift’s project through the Saudi charity association for AIDS patients. Mousa Yehya Heyaza, a member of the Saudi Charity Association, said “We are thankful to IIROSA to share this happiness of Eid with AIDS patients by giving them the gifts. We look forward to similar gestures from it in the future.”
