Crown Prince commends ALJ Community Initiatives

Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, commended ALJ Community Initiatives (ALJCI) in a letter sent to Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, Chairman of ALJCI.

After reviewing 2012 ALJCI Annual Report, Crown Prince said in his letter: "We have reviewed the reports we received from you, which include several social, cultural, art and health initiatives through BRJ. We thank them for their efforts and wishing them all the success."

The Crown Prince’s message came in response to the message sent by Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel to the Crown Prince, including ALJCI’ Annual Report 2011 and 2011 results achieved by BRJ Saudi Arabia, as well as other social, art, health and cultural initiatives.

Job opportunities created by BRJ during the first half of the year were as follow: productive household program: 15,705 job opportunities (52 percent), direct employment program: 11,501 job opportunities, small projects finance: 2,382 job opportunities, training ending with employment: 361 job opportunities, taxi ownership program: 317 job opportunities. In addition, 178 young males joined the truck ownership program.

During 2011, BRJ has successfully created more than 49,000 job opportunities throughout the Kingdom. During the first half of 2012, BRJ created more than 30,000 job opportunities. Ashjan Taha, a beneficiary of BRJ, and is currently employed by Al Shai’a Company, said that she is so happy with the opportunity she obtained through BRJ. Ashjan is currently sustaining her mother and sisters. Another beneficiary, Nawal, who joined the productive household program in Jeddah, said that she started her perfume-selling project, and she is currently preparing to move to the second level and receiving a bigger finance. Nawal said that her monthly income ranges from SR1,800 to SR2,000, with profits up to 30 percent a month.
