'Emirati at core of development'

Khaleej Times - 04 August, 2012

His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has underlined that the government’s concern for the Emirati is the most important element in the development process.

The UAE, under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the emirates, has provided the essentials for a decent life and basic services, especially health, education and infrastructure, in every nook and corner of the country.

Shaikh Saud hailed the field visits paid by General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the UAE citizens in their areas, where he met them, studied their needs and issued necessary directives to fulfil those needs.

He made the remarks at a meeting with a delegation of Abu Dhabi Media, comprising directors of TV channels and crew of news centres.

Shaikh Saud praised the clear role of the ‘Uloom Al Dar’ (news) bulletin for presenting issues and spread awareness about them across the country.

He reaffirmed the role played by the local media in highlighting the issues concerning the country and the needs of both the Emiratis and expatriates living in the country, as the media is a conduit between the people and officials.

He urged the media personnel to also highlight the achievements of the country in different sectors, and the importance of preserving the prestigious position the country has occupied.

On their part, the delegation members thanked Shaikh Saud for offering them the opportunity to meet him. The session continued for more than an hour, during which the delegation listened to his directives. Shaikh Saud underlined his keenness to make the work of Abu Dhabi Media a success and its coverage of the emirate by the field crew easy.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Shaikh Saqr bin Saud Al Qasimi and a number of officials.
