Hadi returns home after short visit to Qatar

Yemen News Agency - 03 August, 2012

President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi returned to Sana’a Thursday evening after a short visit to Qatar at an invitation from Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifah Al Thani.

During the visit, a Yemeni-Qatari summit was held in Doha by the two leaders, during which they touched the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

In the summit, President Hadi reviewed a number of developments at the Yemeni arena in light of the political settlement process in Yemen, based on the Gulf initiative and the Security Council resolution No. 2014.

He pointed to the suffering of Yemeni people due to the 2011 crisis and its negative reflections on the political, economic and security levels.

Hadi affirmed that the transitional phase will represent an important passing station in Yemen’s modern history.

Moreover, Hadi dealt with the topics related to the Qatar-funded projects and issues of Yemeni expatriates in Qatar.

For his part, Qatar's Emir welcomed President Hadi, pointing to his great interest in security, unity and safety of Yemen.

He confirmed that Qatar will present the necessary and possible assistance to Yemen in order to come out of its current condition and for the success of the transitional phase with all its requirements.

In this regard, the Qatar Emir said that Qatar will participate with high-level delegation in the donors' conference for Yemen to be held in September 04 in Riyadh and will contribute strongly in presenting support in the conference.

On the situation of the Yemeni community, Emir Hamad directed to deal with the sons of Yemeni community in schools as same as Qataris.

He also gave directives to complete projects of Sheikh Khalifa medical city in Taiz city and Al Ryan residential project in the capital Sana'a as well as Hodeidah-Abyan road and the coastal round road in Aden city.

Furthermore, he directed to present 100 medical scholarships and 100 scholarships for studying in various scientific fields.

'Qatar will complete all projects being under implementation and the projects needed by Yemen', Qatari Emir said.

During the summit, the two leaders discussed a number of issues and topics of common concern at the regional and international levels.
