Qatar's emir meets Belgian, Canadian envoys

HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani met at Al Wajbah Palace yesterday evening the outgoing Belgian Ambassador to Qatar, Luc Devolder, whose tenure has ended.

During the audience, the Emir decorated the Belgian envoy with Qatar’s Sash of Merit award in recognition for his role to promote the bilateral ties between the two countries, wishing him success in his future assignments and the relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Belgium more progress and prosperity.

For his part, the Belgian envoy expressed thanks and gratitude to HH the Emir and the officials in the State for the co-operation accorded to him during his tour of duty.

Below: HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani conferred yesterday evening with the outgoing Canadian Ambassador to Qatar, Gary Luton, whose term of office has expired.

HH the Emir wished the ambassador success in any future assignment and continued growth for relations between the two countries. The ambassador expressed his appreciation of the co-operation extended to him during his tour of duty.
