Visit fosters ties with Qatar

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos returned yesterday morning after completing a 3-day private visit to Qatar on His Majesty’s way back from private visits to many European countries.

Upon his arrival at the Royal Air Port, His Majesty was received by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al 1342712878008193700 Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers; His Highness Sayyid Shabib bin Taimur al Said, His Majesty the Sultan’s Adviser for Environmental Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tareq al Said, Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tareq al Said, Minister of Heritage 1342712909168196300 and Culture; His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tareq al Said, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior; Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed al Salmy, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs; Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Minister of Justice; Nasr bin Hamoud al 1342712989888205900 Kindi, Secretary-General of the Royal Court Affairs; Lt Gen Abdullah bin Rashid al Kalbani, Chief of the Internal Security Service; Lt General Hassan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs; Lt General Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces; Maj General Said 1342715531568628400 bin Nassser al Salmi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman; Air Vice Marshal Matar bin Ali al Obaidani, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman; Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman; and the charge d’affaires of the Qatari Embassy to 1342716048988782000 Oman.

His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied on his visit to Qatar by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs; Yusuf bin 1342716208258819700 Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs; Darwish bin Ismaeel al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs; Mohammed bin Al Zubair, His Majesty the Sultan's Adviser for Economic Planning Affairs and Mohammed bin Nassir al Wahaibi, the Sultanate's Ambassador to Qatar.
His Majesty the Sultan’s visit to Qatar was 1342719831419209500 aimed at fostering the bilateral co-operation between the two sisterly nations.

Earlier, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos left the Qatari capital Doha after completing a 3-day private visit to Qatar. His Majesty the Sultan and his accompanying delegation were seen off at Doha International Air Port by a farewell party led 1342723480369680900 by His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, besides Abdulla bin Khalifa al Attiya, Minister of State (Head of the Mission of Honour accompanying His Majesty), Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad al Thani, Chief of the Emiri Diwan, Abdullah bin Mohammed al Khater, Qatar’s Ambassador to 1342723761559778600 the Sultanate, Mohammed bin Nassir al Wahaibi, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to Qatar.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has sent a cable of thanks to Shaikh Hamad upon His Majesty’s departure from Doha after he completed a 3-day private visit to Qatar.

In his cable, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the Emir for his excellent hospitality and generous welcome confirming that the visit has strengthened the brotherly relations between the two nations and supported their constant efforts for the best interests of the Omani and Qatari peoples in various fields.

His Majesty the Sultan wished the Emir good health and happiness and the Qatari people further progress and prosperity under his leadership.
