KTT role in promoting education among deprived lauded

Arab News - 19 July, 2012

Khak-e-Taiba Trust, a Jeddah-based educational and community service organization, felicitated CBSE Grade XII students of International Indian School Jeddah following commendable results in 2012.

The felicitation function, in which students, faculty and Principal Syed Masood Ahmed were honored, was organized at the Indian Consulate, Jeddah.

Consul General of India Faiz Ahmad Kidwai was the chief guest. He spoke at length on the importance of career building and the need for introspection among students and their guardians to see what is the best course for their wards to succeed in life.

Kidwai praised KTT for its role in promoting educational cause among the deprived section of the society. KTT provides free education and also free course books, uniforms, bags and shoes etc. "It's really noteworthy (KTT's endeavors) and I appreciate them for this effort," said Kidwai.

Syed Khaja Viqaruddin, general secretary, welcomed all participants to the event. "No-doubt the students are the real beneficiary of such awards, but at the same time we recognize the role of the teachers and the principal for their hard work in shaping the students future," he said.

Shakeel Ahmed, consul commercial and education, also praised KTT for organizing the function. Ahmed said, "In the past we saw only a few students attaining meritorious results, but today despite challenges the urge to do something great has inspired every student and this is reflected in the results."

Principal Ahmed said, "Of course, I appreciate every student who made the school management proud by their achievements, but credit also goes to the teachers who despite of huge strength of almost 40 students in each classes were able to concentrate on the students equally and this has been proved by this year's CBSE results."

KTT President Aijaz Ahmed Khan stated, "KTT remained in the forefront for supporting educational causes and this function has once again confirmed our commitments." He recollected the recently-concluded KTT elocution program in which more than 20 Jeddah schools participated to elaborate the KTT role in developing all-round students.

He said, "The elocution program was conducted following public demand, where many young talents were enthusiastic and eager to share the dais with distinguish guests."

The overseas Trustee & Patron of the organization, Mohammad Shameem Kausar emphasized the need to take up Civil Services as a career option as the number of minority community member fail to take up this as a career.

The Hyderabad Board-of-Trustee for KTT, Mohammed Haseebullah said, "Each student should have the will power to face the challenges of lives" and in this context, he referred to the Holy Qur'anic sayings that "Allah helps only those who help themselves."

Dr. Faiz Zain Al-Abideen said the importance of a teacher in molding the lives of students could not be denied. In-fact, Dr. Faiz said "It's the teacher who plays a major role in a student's life, as the students spend much of their time in schools rather than home, so the teachers get the maximum time to polish the students and make them successful," commented Dr. Faiz.

Omar Abourdan, a representative of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Project at Makkah, was happy to be part of the felicitation function, especially with students who have proved their mettle in a challenging environment

KTT's Jeddah youth-wing President Syed Muzakkir Bukhari and his team presented the activities of the organization with Power Point presentation. Bukhari also gave the vote of thanks.
