Assistance to 30,000 families   

Oman Daily Observer - 09 July, 2012

As many as 30,000 families will benefit from a programme of assistance known as Iftar Sayem to provide basic food items to the needy during the breaking of fast on a daily basis.

The programme, undertaken by Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO), began to be implemented yesterday through distribution centres and in co-operation with suppliers and it is expected to be completed by the end of next week. The programme offers assistance worth RO 1.2 million, said Ali bin Ibrahim al Raisi, Chief Executive Officer of OCO, adding that there is wide scope for philanthropists to offer endowments.
