Dubai residents come out in force to support blood drive

Gulf Today - 02 July, 2012

Last week, hundreds of people queued at Carrefour’s Century Mall hypermarket in Dubai’s Al Mamzar area to support the Ministry of Health’s latest blood donation drive.

Between 9am and 2pm, residents were able to donate blood in a specialised vehicle as part of Carrefour’s ongoing support of the Ministry of Health’s blood donation campaign.

Henry Changeux, GCC Country Head of Carrefour, said, “With the summer heat approaching and many residents jetting off on their holidays, there is a concern that much needed supplies from those who regularly donate blood could be diminished. Giving blood is a selfless act that really does make a difference and saves lives.”
