Prince Salman 'icon' of Family

Arab Times - 20 June, 2012
Author: Ahmed Al-Jarallah

Normally, a state of institutions is not perturbed by calamities or a sudden tragedy; while the transition of authority and leadership is usually conducted in a smooth and tranquil manner like in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where competent leaders occupy suitable positions. What if that person is the secretary, advisor and icon of the ruling family — someone in charge of difficult tasks and opens his door to everyone?
It is not surprising that HH Prince Salman Abdul Aziz has won the trust of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the ruling family and the people of Saudi Arabia to take up the Crown Prince post. He believes in the concept of human development which is vital in the advancement of the State and the communities. This belief has motivated him to work hard throughout the last decades in establishing an ideology which suits the Kingdom and its characteristics. In every cultural institution that he heads and supervises, he exerts tremendous efforts for the people of Saudi Arabia to acquire more knowledge - a trait which had put him not only in the hearts of Saudis but also the Gulf and Arab nationals.

Strengthen
Due to his closeness to the people, Prince Salman finds it easy to strengthen ties with every sector of the society. He works hard to ease the burden of the people. He invests most of his time and efforts in humanitarian care; thus, he deserves the title, ‘Prince Salman: mobile charity institution’. He does not focus on political and economic issues alone. In fact, he promotes the principle of contemporary education in the Kingdom. He puts the burden of his people on top of his priorities. He has taken a number of Arab and Islamic cultural initiatives, while exerting tremendous efforts to address Arab and Islamic issues. He fully supports those who suffer injustice. His historic stand towards Kuwait in 1990 when he allowed Kuwaitis to take refuge in the second capital city, Riyadh, will not be lost in oblivion.

Everybody sees the amazing work of a statesman whose presence in the Arab, Islamic and international communities remains strong. He graduated from the school of the late King Abdul Aziz — a school which continues to produce men who bring honor to the Kingdom; always watching over its security and stability, devoting themselves towards its development and prosperity.
Prince Salman, son of the late King Abdul Aziz, in his capacity as the Crown Prince, is the most appropriate successor to a proficient predecessor. The Kingdom is in good hands; it has a loyal assistant to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Abdul Aziz, in addition to the State officials. All is well in the Kingdom and we pray it remains so all the time. The Kingdom takes us from one glory to another — politically, economically and culturally.
