Tragedy boy's body set for repatriation

Gulf Daily News - 19 June, 2012

The body of a four-year-old boy who died of a suspected stomach infection after reportedly swallowing too much toothpaste will be repatriated tonight.

Aron Williams Samuel fell ill at his home in Manama and was taken to Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), where he was pronounced dead at around 3am.

His body will be repatriated to Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on a Bahrain Air flight at 9pm, said a family friend.

The cause of death was declared as heart attack (with complications) which was mentioned on the death certificate, he added.

"His parents are still in deep shock after losing their only son," he said.

"It is difficult to console them but they are preparing for the repatriation and funeral which will take place in India.

"It is a tragedy and we all feel sad about it."

The Indian Embassy confirmed the repatriation process was complete.

"We have prepared all the documents and completed formalities to send the body," said a spokesman.

The boy's family was too upset to speak, but the father told the GDN his son had been suffering from health problems for a month.

Aron, who attended Al Dana Nursery in Ghufool, is survived by his father Williams Samuel, mother Lovely Williams and his seven-year-old sister, Indian School student, Ashlin.
