Cawing of Iran

Arab Times - 21 May, 2012
Author: Ahmed Al-Jarallah

It has become crystal clear that Iran can no longer hide its lust for expansion, occupation and extortion.
This renegade country has not only occupied the Al-Awaz region but also the three islands belonging to the United Arab Emirates. Now the insolent Tehran has publicly announced that it will occupy the Kingdom of Bahrain.
This is to prevent Manama from choosing what is good for the country, to prevent the Bahrainis from choosing their destiny and to prevent the Bahrainis from uniting with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the framework of the Gulf States confederation.
The demonstrations organized by the ‘Don Quixotes’ of Tehran and the statements issued by them are a testimony that the regime is sitting at the edge of a bottomless pit.
Bahrain, Saudi Arabia or any other Gulf state needs no permission from leaders in Iran or the revolutionary guards in Tehran to practice their legal rights.
These are sovereign nations and they have the authority over their citizens, their lands and their decisions. The leaders in Tehran must understand this fact loud and clear because their shortsightedness, arrogance and illusionary power can send their politics spinning out of control.
When some regimes begin to suffer from political ‘Alzheimer’s’, it is the sign of their imminent downfall. The regime in Tehran is not only suffering from ‘Alzheimer’s’, but it has become senile - a condition which has given the rulers an impression that they are the dominating power in the region.
They erase this country or swallow that country from the map as if the world is their grazing field. They believe no one can discipline them.

Because of this belief Iran has launched threats against Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States in general. At other times it is known to have planted destructive spy cells in every GCC state.
The GCC leaders are fully aware of this fact. These are moves of a desperate nation which wants to escape the wrath of its citizens — nation hated by the outside world.
Contrary to what Iran’s swindlers are saying, the Kingdom of Bahrain was never a part of Iran or the Persian Empire... and it will never be.
Whatever statements that have been issued by the bloated leaders will not change an iota of reality.
The official recognition of Bahrain as a Kingdom by Iran and the exchange of diplomats is an outright and irrefutable testimony that refutes Iran’s allegations.
The Kingdom of Bahrain in 1971 unanimously agreed to reject predominance and intervention by Iran in its local affairs, in fact, in a historic opinion poll, the Bahrainis decided to adhere to their Arab identity.
In spite of the fact that the then regime of Shah was much stronger than the current regime in Tehran, Bahrain did not feel threatened. This is because Bahrain has a well-established civilization and the land which has always been a thorn in the side of every invader who tried to attack it.
The regime in Tehran and their supporters should know that the idea of establishing a union among the Gulf States did not happen because of the action of some hired revolutionary guards and spies in some Gulf countries.
It is a strategic plan which was put in place by the leaders of the region when they announced the formation of GCC in 1981.
From that time the Gulf States have been nurturing this idea in all their agreements. Therefore the idea will not be shelved because of the cawing of a crow on deathbed.
