Brussels, Ramadan 1, 1433, Jul 20, 2012, SPA -- The European Union today expressed disappointment that the UN Security Council has failed to crystallize consensus on Syria situation due to the rejection of some of its members to mount any pressure on the Syrian regime to stop violence and oppression on civilians.
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said in a statement that this negative development would reduce chances of reaching a real settlement of the Syrian crisis.
