A 26-fold jump in real estate income and better cost management helped Dlala Brokerage and Investments Holding Company to register an 81% jump in net profit to QR30.34mn in the first six months of this year.

Net brokerage and commission income, otherwise, shrank 31% to QR16.37mn, according to its financial statement filed with the Qatar Exchange.

Although investment income fell 52% to QR5.21mn and interest income by 50% to QR1.12mn, real estate income zoomed 26-fold to QR26.93mn, thus lifting the net operating income by 32% to QR49.63mn. Of the QR26.93mn realty income, gain on sale of trading properties amounted to QR25.06mn and QR1.88mn was from real estate brokerage fee income (registering 81% increase).

General and administrative expenses were cut 6% to QR17.05mn.
Total assets were valued at QR575mn comprising current assets of QR523.24mn and non-current assets of QR51.76mn.

Total equity stood at QR231.68mn on a capital base of QR200mn and earnings-per-share was QR1.52 at the end of June 30, 2012.
