STC adopts self-service devices for more comfort

Saudi Gazette - 06 August, 2012

Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has introduced self-service devices for the convenience and comfort of its customers. The automated service devices offer services 24/7 and are available in all customer-care centers in addition to public places such as malls and vital areas across the Kingdom.

Moreover, STC launched a 6-month loyalty campaign through which, on a weekly basis, it randomly rewards 2 customers who use the devices with valuable prizes like Samsung, Nokia, iPhone, LG, and blackberry smart phones.

The self-service devices effortlessly provide a variety of services to customers, such as paying bills, printing summary or detailed cellular or telephone bills, in addition to activating cellular services which include (Sada, Mawjood Extra, Roaming Rates, Multimedia, Push to Talk, Jawal packages, Quick Net, Friends & Family, Jawal Keys, changing Jood Packages, requesting new line, Jood Keys, content messages and multimedia) in addition to many other services.

During the first 3 weeks of the campaign, the winners were: Bashar Khaleel Baides, Majed bin Abdullah bin Mohammad Shenan, Ranjin Mobarkat Nazaitan Azhar, Abdullah Al-Shahri, Salman bin Mohammad bin Saleh Al-Saif, and Kharm Ahmad.

Meanwhile, STC connected various areas in the Kingdom together with fiber optics technology (FTTH) with a reach exceeding 300,000 km as part of STC’s plan to link more than half a million homes with FTTH technology by the end of 2012, and more than a million homes by the end of 2014.

The FTTH project is considered the biggest investment of its kind in the region, and will benefit both the business and wireless sectors.

Fiber optics technology operates at very high speeds to transfer data to the customer’s household though high capacity fibers. In effect, this gives great internet browsing and download speeds that can go more than a 1000mb/sec, and allows accessibility to various features like internet TV (IPTV), video on demand (VoD) and other entertainment services as well as calling services where customers can choose any package they wish.

FTTH is considered to be the latest accredited technology with the highest global standards. STC employs this technology to ensure that its services can reach as many of its customers as possible, in line with its efforts to provide the best Internet service in high quality and speed, and at competitive prices. For convenience, customers can contact customer-care at 906 or 907 any time of the day. New customers can request the service by calling customer care (#907), or visiting a customer-care center, or by sending the short code "4321".
