The executive committee of the World Energy Forum 2012, or WEF, has held its sixth meeting at the headquarters of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, or Dewa.

The meeting was chaired by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice-chairman of the SCE and chairman of the Committee, in the presence of Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, deputy commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, Nejib Zaafrani, CEO and secretary-general of the SCE and vice-chairman of the Committee, Dr Yousef Al Akraf, president of the Services, Logistics and Facilities Committee, Khawla Al Mehairi, vice- chairman of Media and Communications Committee for the World Energy Forum 2012 and other members of the Committee and other sub-committees to discuss preparations for WEF, which will be hosted by Dubai in the World Trade Center from October 22-24 at Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme, ‘A Forum For World Leaders.’

The meeting discussed the forum’s agenda, the progress of the sub- committees, the editorial plan, marketing campaign, hospitality arrangements, memorial stamps and coins, in addition to the progress achieved by the services, logistics and facilities committee. This committee held a number of meetings last month with the Forum’s team and the event management company, both based in New York, as part of the ongoing efforts to host the forum which solidifies Dubai’s role as a global hub for capital, trade, research, renewable energy and sustainability.

The meeting also discussed the ongoing efforts to make hosting the forum a success in order to further establish the prominent position of the UAE and its global energy-focused initiatives.
