Four agreements were signed here yesterday for the construction of a bridge at Salalah Airport and a number of roads and exchanges in the city, among other services.

The agreements, worth RO 32.17 million, were inked by Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidy. The pacts cover the construction of internal roads at Jarziz Farm and many parts of Salalah city.

The first agreement, worth RO 20.73 million, provides for the construction of interchanges at Ateen-Al Rabat road and the expansion of Al Rabat road in Salalah by the addition of a flyover at the interchange and three lanes in each direction along a stretch of 11 km of the motorway.

The second agreement, worth RO 4.5 million, deals with the construction of a 10-metre high concrete bridge over the ring road along Salalah Airport, with two exit and entry points, in addition to a service road north of the ring road. The project seeks to facilitate the movement of pedestrians on both sides of the 1342525630747821400 road. The third deal includes the designing and construction of internal roads at Jarziz Farm layout in Salalah at a cost of RO 5.68 million.

The fourth agreement is related to the designing and construction of internal roads in Salalah city, a stretch of 30 kilometres, at a cost of RO 1.25 million. The projects are yet another step forward taken by the government to solve the problem of traffic congestions inside the city of Salalah. They will also contribute to the growing rates of, business, economic and tourism activities in the governorate. The ceremony was attended by Abdullah bin Aqeel al Ibrahim, Acting Deputy Governor of Dhofar, and Shaikh Salim bin Ofait al Shanfari, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality.
