Top Sabic official is named on Alba board

Alba has announced the appointment by Sabic Industrial Investments Company of Dr Talaat Dafer Abdulla Aldafer Alqahtani as a new member of Alba's board.

Dr Alqahtani will be representing Sabic following the resignation of Homood Abdulla Al Tuwaijri from the board.

"I congratulate Dr Alqahtani on being appointed by Sabic as one of its representatives on Alba's board," said Alba chairman Mahmood Al Kooheji.

"He brings with him considerable experience and exposure to regional business dynamics, and we are confident that Alba will benefit richly from his contribution," he added.

Mr Alqahtani is currently Sabic vice-president for corporate strategy and planning for the Saudi Arabia, Middle East and North Africa region.

He is also a consultant to the Saudi Industry and Commerce Ministry.

His professional experience has encompassed the public and private sectors in a senior capacity.

Dr Alqahtani has received a PhD in Quality Management from the Arabian Academy for Sciences, Technology and Maritime Transport, in Alexandria, Egypt.

He obtained his Master's degree in Information Studies from the Loughborough University of Technology in the UK.
