QCCI becomes Qatar Chamber, gets new logo

The Peninsula - 16 May, 2012

Qatar's industrial body 'Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry' has recently announced the launch of a new visual identity and name that reflects the significant transformation of the organisation over the past year. The new name of the organisation will be 'Qatar Chamber'.

At the heart of the new corporate identity is the simplification of the name, appearing as ‘Qatar Chamber’, complemented by multi-layered set of crescents logo, which forms the letter ‘Q’ in a dynamic wave. The icon is the symbol of the Chamber’s Arab heritage, signifying the tides of growth lapping at Qatar’s shores. The warm Qatari flag color represents the spirit and energy of the organization while the rotating edges convey activity and optimism.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber said: “The new corporate identity gives fresh thrust to the Chamber’s mission of supporting and representing the business community in Qatar, especially small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), and developing the local private sector through knowledge transfer, counseling and research.”

“Qatar Chamber has evolved significantly during the past years. Today, our organisation has gained international exposure, we have a portfolio of more than 22,000 members and we employ more than 80 people. The new identity better reflects who we are today and the organization we aim to be tomorrow,” he added.

From today the name of the organization will appear as ‘Qatar Chamber’ to distinguish the institutional name - Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry - from the new brand. The new identity pays respect to the Chamber’s heritage, whilst at the same time creating a distinct new visual for the organisation.

The new corporate identity complements Qatar Chamber ‘s efforts to expand services to benefit businesses in Qatar. New initiatives like hosting the 8th World Chambers Congress (8th WCC) in Qatar are expected to pave the way for unprecedented access for local SMEs, business owners and corporations to international business and commerce networks.

“Rapid economic growth has created new needs and standards for investors and business owners, and a need for our organisation to renew its mission and vision.,” said Remy Rowhani, Director General of Qatar Chamber.

He explained that the Chamber’s services would now extend to provide ‘out-of-the-box’ services to attract investments in areas relevant to Qatar National Vision 2030, such as sports and green investments as well as creating cutting-edge electronic networking systems to allow Business-to-Business (B2B) networking locally and across borders.

Qatar Chamber is also revamping its digital platforms to incorporate better functionality and accessibility for members and SME’s seeking counsel and other services.

The new logo will appear on all corporate publications, printed materials, the corporate website (www.qatarchamber.com) and will be used in all the projects undertaken by Qatar Chamber.

The new visual identity, which was developed by “Vahid Associates” – a Bahrain-based branding agency, will officially be rolled out internationally starting September 2012 through a bold media campaign to promote the 8th World Chambers Congress, which will take place from April 22-25, 2013 in Doha.
