UK firm launches 'Two Chicks' in UAE

The Peninsula - 24 March, 2010

A London-based firm, Anna Alla Ltd has recently launched in Dubai and Abu Dhabi 'Two Chicks', an innovative product that is a convenient recipe and time saver in the kitchen for working class.

The product, liquid egg white in 500g packs is claimed by the company, 70 per cent less calories than whole eggs, fat-free and full of protein perfect health food.

Intially the company shelved the product at Spinneys in two emirtes in the UAE.

Each pack contains the egg white of 15 free range eggs and can be the choice of celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, Madonna, and sports personalities such as Jonny Wilkinson who opt for egg white to stay in shape.

Egg white can be used in place of whole eggs in almost any recipe from omelettes and scrambled eggs, to meringues and protein shakes. It is pasteurised and contains no preservatives.

Entrepreneurs Anna Richey and Alla Ouvarova successfully launched their product 'Egg White' in Selfridges England in August 2007.

Prior to the launch of Two Chicks, liquid egg white, which is very big in the US, was never available to buy in retail in the UAE, the UK or Ireland. Alla said, "We see a big market for our product in the UAE."

Anna said, "I had found separating eggs myself to be a real hassle - and wasteful. Alla and I were determined to find an easier way."
