Britain decides to raise annual aid to Yemen up to $ 300 mln
Yemen News Agency - 14 August, 2012 This came in a letter President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi received on Monday from British Prime Minister David Cameron conveyed by Robin Searby, the counterterrorism advisor to the British PM.
The letter included the British's support for the transitional stage requirements in Yemen and achieve the security, stability and prosperity.
In his letter, Mr. Cameron said that he has received some reports on important decisions President Hadi made to implement the Gulf initiative, stressing that the British government would assist in mobilizing aid and assistances for carrying out the initiative.
Britain and the international community will encounter any person deter the implementation of the political settlement, British PM said.
The letter included also an invitation to President Hadi to visit London, which the President accepted.
During the meeting, President Hadi reviewed with the British PM advisor the progress of the implementation of the Gulf initiative, asserting the importance of the British aid in the donor meeting in Riyadh and Friends of Yemen meeting in New York to be held both in September. |
