US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns praised on Monday Yemeni government forces in their fight against Al-Qaeda organization in Abyan Province in the south.

Burns, made his remarks during his meeting with President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi, added that such achievement would enable and attract foreign investments into the country due to security and stability which would bolster the country's economic progress.

The US official noted that his country would continue to support Yemen in various political, security, and economic fields which would enable it to achieve security and stability in the country.

For his part, the Yemeni leader applauded the US administration keenness in Yemen's affairs, especially in such critical times.

The Yemeni leader also briefed Burns on the steps and procedures taken to implement the Arabian Gulf's initiative and mechanism to form a national unity government.
