KZHF delivers more food parcels among Yemenis: UAE

Gulf Today - 07 July, 2012

The Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) distributed on Thursday 1,300 food parcels among needy people in Yemen.

The assistance was delivered in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Dhs500 million food aid for Yemeni people.

The foundation said 300 food parcels were given to the needy people at Mashhour village in the Province of Aden while Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Aden city received 1,000 food kits which contained staples like rice, flour, sugar, edible oil and kids’ powder milk.

Juma Al Kuwaiti, head of the foundation’s aid team, said his aid workers were happy to reach out to this village, which lacked the most basic essentials of living, from water, electricity and medicines to shelter.

He added food parcels would be distributed in villages that go through similar difficult situation.

The villagers prayed to the Almighty God to grant Sheikh Khalifa good health and protect the UAE and its people.

The UAE President had assigned the foundation to purchase these relief supplies from the local markets in Yemen in order to revive the Yemeni economy and domestic market.
