IMF affirms support to Yemen
Kuwait News Agency - 02 July, 2012 Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Yemen Hasan Al-Atrash affirmed Sunday that all types of economic and technical support were available to Yemen.
During official talks with Yemeni Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Mohammad Al-Saadi, Al-Atrash said that Yemen topped IMF priority list.
For his part, the minister praised IMF's support to Yemen, which also includes support to the country's development and stability, asserting on his government keenness to benefit from IMF expertise in such field.
Al-Saadi also indicated that there are government sponsored plans to ensure reforms and a leap toward wise leadership in Yemen, including combating corruption through various channels and achieve the people's wishes and aspiration in this regard.
The Yemeni minister added that his government is also keen to combat poverty and end the suffering of refugees in Saada and Abyen provinces, as result of recent violence and unrest. |
